Design the empty state first
Most new users see an empty screen before anything else. Design what they see with zero data: one line explaining the value, one clear action, and an example of what it will look like …

★
Name your Figma layers before handoff
Developers read your layer names. "Frame 1287" tells them nothing; "Card / Price / Discount" tells them the component, the part and the state. Rename top-level frames and components before you share the link.
UI
Check touch targets on a real phone
Mirror your Figma frame to your phone and try every tap with your thumb. Anything smaller than about 44 points or packed tightly will cause mis-taps, especially on budget Android phones.
Freelancing
Quote with scope, not hours
List the deliverables, revision rounds and timeline in the proposal. Clients compare scope more easily than hourly rates, and it protects you when the project starts to grow.
Career
Ask for a 20-minute portfolio walkthrough
When you apply, offer to walk the team through one project live. It shows how you think and communicate, which is what most interviews are really testing.
Portfolio
Three deep case studies beat twenty shots
Recruiters skim. Show the problem, your role, two or three key decisions with the options you rejected, and the result. Put the strongest case study first and cut everything that does not support it.
